Strategic Communication Plans
Strategic Communication Plans
A strategic communication plan is an internal/external plan outlining the communication strategies of an organization. A successful communication strategic plan can help organizations enhance their overall worker productivity, establish a positive market presence, and instil trust among employees. During my Master’s, I worked with a team on two strategic communication plans for companies – Sunquest Resources and Clarity.
Sunquest Resources
In my strategic communication class, we were divided into groups and asked to work with a company and develop a communication plan for them. My team consisted of two people. We made a communication plan for an elderly care facility Diamond Oaks Senior Care, run by Sunquest Resources. They were satisfied with their internal communication and wanted us to develop strategies for external communication to boost their brand’s value and visibility. We drafted a report defining the goals & objectives and the communication strategies they should employ to enhance their external visibility. The initiatives included forging partnerships with other organizations, establishing a solid social media presence, and improving their website. Additionally, we created artifacts to demonstrate these ideas.
Clarity
In my communication consultancy class, we worked for a healthcare communication company, Clarity, for the semester as a team of communication consultants. We helped them redefine their company by making a new set of purpose, mission, vision, and value statements for them and proposed internal and external communication strategies.
